Lever/Lever
A lever is a rigid bar that pivots around a central point (known as a fulcrum). When you apply force to the end of the lever it is likely to cause it to turn the fulcrum in the direction of the force applied. The distance between the fulcrum to the point where you apply the force determines the distance the lever is able to move. This is known as the mechanical advantage. They are sold in pairs for both the doors, both exterior and interior, with spindles and screws included. They are also available in both handed and unhandled versions for different types of users.
These are often used for new constructions and can be fitted to replace existing doors made of upvc. The levers are lifted to open all multipoint locks and the key is turned to lock or close the door. They offer a little more security than the standard lever handles for doors because locking can only be performed by the inside using a key.
They are not as secure as a cylinder bolt but are a reasonable alternative to add security. The only disadvantage is that they don't offer the same level of protection as a cylinder bolt and therefore don't stop external access when the door is left open.

This handle is designed to be used with uPVC multipoint locks that use a split spindle mechanism. This kind of operation requires the lever handle as well as the external pad handle to be fitted on the same lock case. This could be a straightforward modification to the existing uPVC handles but it may also require changing the lock case or a brand new set of handle furniture to allow this additional function.
